Pete Viteritti, MS, DC

Pete Viteritti earned his Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) degree in 1983 from Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis, Missouri, and received the class presidential award for clinical excellence.  He went on to complete a three-year post-doctoral program in sports medicine at New York Chiropractic College becoming the first Massachusetts chiropractor  and  currently Boston’s only, Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians.  In addition, he earned a Masters of Sports Science degree in sports medicine from the United States Sports Academy in Mobile, Alabama and completed a one year program of advanced training in functional rehabilitation from the Southern California College of Health Sciences.  Dr. Viteritti is an experienced Active Release Techniques® provider with advanced certifications in Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization.

In 1992, Dr. Viteritti was recognized as one of the Nation’s most respected sports chiropractors when he was awarded, “Sports Chiropractor of the Year” by the American Chiropractic Association’s Sports Council.  He received international distinction when he was elected a “Full Member” of the International Federation of Sports Chiropractic, and a recipient of the prestigious “International Sports Chiropractic Distinguished Service Award”. He has been a featured speaker at both national and international multidisciplinary sport symposiums, and served on the post-graduate faculty of five chiropractic colleges throughout the country.  Dr. Viteritti was a member of the editorial review boards for the journals, Chiropractic Sports Medicine and Sports Chiropractic & Rehabilitation. He has been featured on both audio and videotape programs that are used in chiropractic post-graduate education throughout the world.

Some of the highlights of his more than 25 years of clinical experience as a sports chiropractic specialist include serving as a member of the sports medicine staff at the U.S. Olympic Track & Field Trials, the U.S. Figure Skating National Championships, the U.S. Women’s Gymnastics National Championships, the U.S. Taekwondo National Championships, the U.S. Power Lifting Collegiate National Championships, the U.S. Track & Field Collegiate National Championships, the Penn Relays, the Boston and New York City Marathons, the Lake Placid Ironman Triathlon, the Head of the Charles Regatta, the World Indoor Rowing Championships, the PGA’s New England Classic, the LPGA’s Bay State Classic and the Rock & Roll Gymnastics Championships starring members of the Men’s and Women’s U.S. Olympic Gymnastics Teams.

Internationally, he was a member of the sports medicine staff at the Fifth All-Africa Games in Cairo, Egypt providing sports chiropractic services to several national teams. He was also appointed to lead a delegation of American doctors to the China Olympic Training Center in Beijing, China for an educational exchange program.

Dr. Viteritti is an advisory board member to the Boston Sports Medicine & Performance Group, as well as the New England Sports Medicine Council.  In addition, he is the sports medicine consultant to the South End Athletic Company and serves as the Chiropractic Sports Physician for Northeastern University Sports Medicine.
